In
September 24, 1999 there was held a conference on Peace and International
Cooperation in the Caucasus (Meeting at the Ministry of Transport of Georgia).
The conference participants, representatives of the Ministry of Transport and
other institutions interested in the transport corridor together with young
specialists mainly trained abroad discussed numerous issues concerning the
East-West Transport Corridor - strategy, projects and efforts of state
institutions, Ministry of Transport and private companies directing at
implementation of the Transport Corridor projects.
The special internet archive, created on this occasion contains not only all information about the conference, but also other important materials concerning issues of peace and international relations, which are supposed to assist people interested in above-mentioned questions.
The author of the concept is the Duke University (US) graduate Mr. Michael Adeishvili. The conference was held with kind assistance of IREX Tbilisi office, The Transport Consulting and Training Center (TC&TC). The Center of Peace and International Relations Studies (CPIRS) managed the project.
