International Research and Exchange Board - Tbilisi, Georgia (IREX)

IREX opened in Tbilisi in 1993, expanding its research and training projects within the Republic of Georgia to include university research and teaching, corporate management and commerce, government policymaking and diplomacy, journalism and the media. Participants of these programs are leaders in their fields and are instrumental in establishing democratic principles and civil society in Georgia today. IREX-Tbilisi current activities support exchanges of specialists, Internet and email training, alumni conferences, seminars and workshops, small grants, US education advising, and a library collection of over 2,000 US books. In collaboration with IREX offices in Armenia and Azerbaijan, IREX-Tbilisi also focuses its activities on developing programs and formats for the South Caucasus region.
